Hi people,
Did I tell you i'm going to write you every week? Oh, I just realized that my last (and the first.. oops:)) post was made in March 2011... And it's already May 2012. Why I didn't write? I was afraid you will think I've gone crazy!!! But it looks that my mind is sober and clear right now so I'm ready to add some bits to my MISTY story...
Yep, it's been over one year but feels like just over one week...
The same feelings, different thoughts. Ups and downs. Tiers and laughs. The sunshine and the rain. Spring-summer-spring-autumn-winter-winter-spring-winter-SUMMER! That's London!!!
It's been an amazing year!!!!!!!!!!
Interesting people, great music, a bit better English, amazing experiences, self control, confidence, unforgettable gigs(I promise the videos are gonna be online soon:)), love, friendship, wine, The Allstars Collective Wednesdays, life like in a restaurant... *Smiling!* It's been such a long and short year! Amazing year!
So. French Connection.... I staid there for 3 months only! F.C.U.K you, guys :) Wasn't really my place but i'm thankful to Tom for giving me an opportunity to improve my English.
Ronnie Scott's became my 3th home. 4x a week. Loved it!
--> June. Beautiful and funny vacation on Malta with nataliancha. Wine and sun burned nose!
Went to Estonia for some gigs and Jaanipäev.
--> July. The craziest month with the label "How to survive!?" :) Met lots of cool people at that time. Saw Robert Glasper for the very first time. Shook Chris Dave's hand to make some people jealous. (Didn't work though!) Met Estonian-Russians on the bus, who took me to the very Russian party, where I met very Estonian girl, who introduced me to the very British saxophone player who discovered for me the Allstars Collective... and you never know where this line will bring me.... anyway it's now over yet :)
Had the quickest job interview ever. 10 minutes! Got the job! Hobbs!
--> August. Went to Estonia for 3 weeks. Had lovely time! Probably some gigs in Clazz...... and one birthday party.
--> September. The labels: "Still Confused!", "Should I go back home!?", "Every jam I go, one song I sing!", "Nica's Dream in the original key!" etc...
---> October. East European Festival. Made Estonian people in London love me! Made even more people believe in me!
---> November. December. January. February. I became normal for a bit. Can you imagine? I started enjoying my day job! (They gave me 1,5 moths holidays in Dec-Jan for gigs and musical in Estonia!! Why shouldn't I enjoy it?!!! Thank you Jenny!!!)
---> March. Suddenly I felt that i'm not moving enough and I decided to do some corrections in my life. You'll hear about them later... Maybe in one year :) Maybe!
---> April. TV coverage: http://uudised.err.ee/external/iframeplayer/etv24iframe_uudised.php?playmode=startvideo&vid=47624

Gone in the mist...
Yesterday four of my friends told me that i have to create a blog. So here I am! You will know what is happening in my life and for me it is a good way to memorize how it was.
Although my English isn't good enough, I'm gonna use it as a main language of my blog. So all my Estonian, Russian and British friends will understand me. And I'm not worried about my mom, because she already knows how to use Google Translate. :)
So let's start.
As you all know, two and a half weeks ago I moved to London. I've been here 4 times before and since the first time I fell in love with that wonderful city that never sleeps and where even rain and mist have bright colors.
My goal is simple. I wanna be a famous jazz singer. I know my abilities, I know my best and worst sides and it all gonna work on me. The first stage is Ronnie Scott's and very soon I'm gonna be there.
Thanks to my friends Natalie and Toby I live very good life here. I live in the best apartment that I ever lived, I'm moving as fast as I ever moved.
My first week was the longest week ever. On the second day I was already homesick but on the third day I already got a job. I'm very lucky! Natalie made me think that I deserve only the best, so during my jobsearch I leaved my CV only at the good places.
Before I came to London I thought, that at first I'm gonna wash dishes somwhere, but no, I'm working at French Connection in Oxford Circus that is very heart of London.
I love our team, I love atmosphere that we have there. Before I never worked 5 days running but now I'm working and it's allright because I like the way it all happens. I start my work usually around 12 and finish around 9 pm and it means that even if I go out and come home at 3 am, I still have time to sleep. :)
Everything is happening very fast now. I already had one gig in place called Jazz after Dark in Soho. On wednesday 23/02 we went there with Toby and told to Sam, who is the owner of that place, that I wanna sing there. I sang one song and they called me back so already at friday 25/02 I had a gig there.
Last week went very quickly. I had couple of very intresting meetings with people who are gonna help me to go far. I went first time at Ronnie Scott's Club and it was amazing. The sound was perfect, musicans where great. I'm glad that I made business cards before I came here. So to get in for free to Ronnie Scott's late show, I had to prove that I am a singer. I showed my bussines card and I was in for free :)
Tonight I'm going to the Jam Session with my new friend Shane Allessio who is originally from Boston. He moved here 6 months ago and he is very very good bass player. www.shaneallessio.com
Tonight I will start with "Green Dolphin Street". Fingers crossed! :)
Dear Friends, thank you all for support that you are giving me. You make me bolder and stronger!!!
Let's keep in touch!!!
